The Latin American Congress of Artificial Organs and Biomaterials - COLAOB is a biennial multidisciplinary event of international prominence, consolidated as one of the main forums in Latin America in the areas of science and engineering of biomaterials, artificial organs and tissue engineering. COLAOB 2025 will be held in Rio de Janeiro from August 26 to 29, 2025 and will feature lectures, plenary sessions and round tables, as well as exhibitions by companies and startups. This event will discuss cutting-edge topics in the area of innovative materials and new technologies for health, including: Additive manufacturing (with an emphasis on bioprinting); Biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; Bioimaging and biosensors; Functionalization of biomaterials: surface and interface; Controlled release systems for drugs and genes; Legal, ethical and regulatory aspects of tissue engineering and cell therapies; Artificial intelligence; Organs-on-a-chip; Artificial organs etc. As well as promoting scientific advances, these areas contribute directly to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as health (SDG 3), quality education (SDG 4), innovation (SDG 9), responsible consumption (SDG 12) and partnerships (SDG 17).
