ABOUT THE EVENT

The III National Symposium on Innovation in Food Science and Engineering (INECA) will take place in conjunction with the III International Symposium on Food Science (SINCA), organized by the Postgraduate Programs in Food Science and Engineering at UESB and in Food Science at UFBA.

This edition, the event will be held entirely in person from August 13 to 15, 2025, in Porto Seguro, Bahia, with the central theme: “Interdisciplinarity in Food Science: Emerging and Innovative Topics”.

The Symposium aims to present new trends and perspectives in the scientific and technological scenario, both nationally and internationally, in the food area. In addition, it seeks to provide participants with updated knowledge, expanding the possibilities of action for Food Engineers and professionals in related areas in the current context.

It's an excellent opportunity to learn more about recent advances in food engineering, science and technology and how they are shaping the future of the food industry.

Group registrations

Groups of 10 people receive a 10% discount on the registration;
To register, the group leader must fill out the list with the full names of the participants who will be part of the package, according to the model (list) and send it to the email ineca.sinca2025@gmail.com;
The group leader must make the deposit on behalf of all congress participants and send proof of payment to the email ineca.sinca2025@gmail.com;
Payment must be made via pix transfer using the QRCode provided;
After sending the list and proof of payment, the organizing committee will have 48 hours to register the group for the event.

INFORMATION ON SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT

General Provisions

To submit abstracts, at least one of the authors must be registered for the event.
Each registered author may submit up to 02 (two) abstracts per registration.
Review papers will not be accepted.
Each abstract may have a maximum of 6 (six) authors.
Abstracts can be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
Abstracts must be submitted exclusively via the website and after registering for the event.
All works will be disseminated through the publication of the event's proceedings and poster presentations.
The poster presentation will last one hour and at least one of the authors must be present. Any author of the abstract can represent it, as long as they are duly registered for the event.
The results presented in the abstract must not have been published before the event and must be significant data, avoiding the fragmentation of the same study into multiple abstracts with limited information.
The abstract must include quantitative data. Abstracts that only mention that the results will be discussed in the future will not be accepted.
The addition or removal of co-authors after the final submission of abstracts will not be permitted.
The best abstracts in each thematic area will be presented orally during the event's program and will receive honorable mentions.
Oral presentations will be given 10 minutes (abstracts submitted in English or Spanish may be presented in Portuguese).
The Committee will contact you to let you know which papers have been selected for oral presentation after it has finished evaluating all the submitted abstracts.
The best abstract will be awarded.
Authors must state during submission whether they wish to have their abstracts evaluated for an award.

Formatting rules

Abstracts must include the Title, Author, Educational Institution, Scientific Text, and Funding Body (if applicable).
Limit: 3 to 5 pages;
The text should contain an Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Objective, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.

Review process

The Scientific Committee will send the abstracts to the evaluators for review and consideration. The committee reserves the right to reject or decide on the final presentation format. Each submission will be preliminarily evaluated using the following criteria:
