The 1st International Symposium of DOHaD and Pandemic: Lessons from Covid-19 becomes a reality due to the need for researchers to gather and disseminate scientific knowledge from within the doors of the laboratory, to whom are interested in scientific information, addressing topics related to Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD), which investigates how adverse factors in early life can increase the individual's susceptibility to various diseases in the long term, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and associated diseases. In addition to associating these themes with the pandemic and understanding how Covid-19 acts in the body and relates to DOHaD.
The event will take place at the State University of Maringá in person, we will have round tables that will allow us to better discuss the themes and deepen our knowledge on the subject in addition to issuing certificates. All this is hosted by Experimental Laboratory in DOHaD (LEx DOHaD) which is located in the Department of Biotechnology, Genetics and Cellular Biology (DBC), at the State University of Maringá (UEM) under the coordination of Professor Paulo Cezar de Freitas Mathias.
