Science diplomacy focuses on the role of science in international relations by promoting cooperation between nations. It has gained significant momentum and visibility, serving as a tool to foster international collaboration between institutions and countries. The bridging of science and diplomacy holds great potential in addressing the challenges of our interconnected world. It enables the search for innovative solutions to overcome problems that often extrapolate borders. Scientific cooperation in the different areas of science and research, facilitated by science diplomacy, is essential for fostering international collaboration and addressing global challenges. Brazil and Germany serve as remarkable examples, exchanging knowledge, sharing best practices, and working together on scientific projects.
The main goal of this
meeting is to discuss challenges and actions, providing a platform for dialogue
among scientists, political decision-makers, as well as scientific and funding
institutions. It aims to explore opportunities for future engagement and
collaboration to promote the flourishing of science diplomacy and contribute to
global progress. By harnessing 'Science in diplomacy’, 'Diplomacy for Science,'
and 'Science for Diplomacy,' while ensuring the participation of various fields
of science, we can address shared challenges and bridge gaps between nations.
